Also New This Year...
North Branch Field Day!
Our new North Branch Field Day will be Friday September 4, 2009. Gates will open at 9:00 am for this casual day dedicated to field picking fun, contests and socializing. From 4-8 pm or so, we'll have a first-come, first-served open microphone time for those musicians wanting to try their hand at performing onstage with real sound equipment. At 6 pm, we'll serve everyone a "Free" (included with your ticket) spaghetti dinner.
Still More Fun...
More Workshops!
Saturday and Sunday we'll be having a dozen music workshops (6/day) included in your admission! Workshop subjects are:
Saturday: Fiddle, Songwriting, Banjo, Bass, guitar, and dobro (w/ Jr. Barber!)
Sunday: Mandolin, Banjo, Kid's music, Harmony Vocals, Guitar, and Bass.
Extra Fun Especially for Kids!...
Dave Clark and "Jukejoynt" will host 2 hours of musical fun over near the workshop tent on both Saturday and Sunday. Children must be accompanied by a supervising adult, please. Watch Dave and friends put big smiles on little faces with their own musical blend of musical genres. It's also a great place for kids to meet new weekend playmates! For more info on Dave Clark and "Jukejoynt", click on his fabulous Yellow House Media website (www.yellowhousemedia.com). Be sure to sign up for Dave's newsletter...we did!

The North Branch Wishing Well
The North Branch Bluegrass Festival (Randy and Heather) gave every cent of it's first show, plus an additional $5,000.oo gift to our local charitable organizations last year. We financially assisted The Bridgewater Volunteer Fire Department, the Neighbors Helping Neighbors group, The Bridgewater Grange, The Bridgewater Fast Squad, and a few local churches. We wanted to introduce Bridgewater residents to the wonderfully gentle world of bluegrass festivals by being as generous as we could possibly afford to be. It was a once in a lifetime experience. We made six hundred people happy... and had a great first show. It was a lot of hard work. This festival has been largely a labor of love, full of many new personal challenges. Everything was done from scratch. Our small crew of volunteer friends did a great job! We are grateful to have them in our lives.
It's easy to believe in big dreams but much more difficult to privately finance them if you're regular working-class people like us. We're spending our life savings trying to bring this festival home to our Bridgewater. We hope that a positive annual event like this will help energize our local sense of community and sustain us through difficult times. If you wish to support our efforts, we welcome your donation. Please call, write, or e-mail us. This is a privately run and funded festival. It's our personal attempt at fending for ourselves in our old age. Please understand that donations to the festival are not considered to be tax deductible contributions.
If you wish to be recognized for your donation by becoming a business sponsor, advertising space is available on our Website, Festival Posters, and Event programs. Stage display area for your business banner and Onstage mentions of your sponsorship are also available. We have worked very hard to earn our new reputation as good promoters and plan to continue our course. We'd be happy to answer any specific questions regarding potential donations.
